Crystal Valentine is a 2017 Callaloo Fellow, 2015 New York City Youth Poet Laureate, and a two-time winner of the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational. Her work has appeared in The BreakBeatPoets Vol. 2: Black Girl Magic Anthology (Haymarket Books, 2018), Winter Tangerine, American Chordata and elsewhere. Born and raised in the Bronx, she is a coordinator for the Bronx Arts Council and the current Wednesday night host at the Nuyorican Poets Café.
