Divya Victor

Divya Victor is the author of Curb (Nightboat Books, 2021), winner of the 2022 PEN/Open Book Award and the winner of the 2022 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. The collection was also a finalist for the 2022 CLMP Firecracker Award for Poetry. She is also the author of Kith (Fence Books/ Book*hug, 2017); Natural Subjects (Trembling Pillow Press, 2014); Unsub (Insert Blanc Press, 2014); and Things To Do With Your Mouth (Les Figues Press, 2014). Victor’s work has been translated into Czech, French, German, and Spanish.

Victor has been a Mark Diamond Research Fellow at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, a Riverrun Fellow at the Archive for New Poetry at the University of California, San Diego, and a writer in residence at the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibition (LACE). Her work has been performed or installed at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Los Angeles, the National Gallery of Singapore, the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibition (LACE), and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Victor has been an editor at Jacket2 magazine, Ethos Books in Singapore, and Invisible Publishing and Book*hug Press, both of which are based in Canada. She is currently an associate professor of English and writing at Michigan State University, where she is the director of the creative writing program. In August 2023, Victor served as Guest Editor of the Poem-a-Day series.
