Edna K. Saloomey

Edna K. Saloomey was a Syrian American poet, essayist, and short story writer. She served as the editor of the “Our Younger Generation” section of The Syrian World, an English-language magazine dedicated to Syrian American life and culture. Before her editorship, she was a frequent contributor of verse and prose to the magazine. Born in the United States, Saloomey is likely among the first Arab American women to publish their writing in English-language periodicals.
